When 2 Seconds Falls Short
The 2-second rule was designed as a simple, memorable minimum — and it works reasonably well in light traffic at moderate city speeds. But several real-world factors push required stopping distances well beyond what 2 seconds provides.

Building a Smarter Following Distance Habit
